UD7/XML-Data is ideal for use with the internet or an intranet with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5. You can quickly create subsets of data for users to view over internet/intranet using a ‘read only’ entity in Uniface mapped to a VIEW in your database. Using a command like:
idf /whr="field=value" /cpy def:table.model ud7:
This will then create a file that the user can browse easily using IE5.
To govern the way that IE5 interprets the XML-Data file the driver automatically creates 2 HTML pages for viewing the data with One HTML page presents your data as a ‘table’, the other as a browsable list using next rec/prev rec command buttons.
If you have Internet Explorer 5 installed, simply double click on either HTML file and it will load the data for you.
