[cvsnt] Can not get CVSNT to work properly.

I have had to reinstall CVS on my desktop and I cannot get it to work now.

I have installed CVSNT 1.11.1.3 (Build 57j). I have configured the
repository. With all check boxes selected under the advanced tab. I have
added a user to the passwd file in the CVSROOT. I am the local administrator
of the box and I am using the local system account to run cvsnt server. And
I am using my account to login.

cvs -d:pserver:Mbedry at M058275:c:/cvsdir login

I receive the following message
cvs [login aborted]: Error reading from server M058275: -1

Can anyone please help
