the moment... it's probably better that it's a bit harder to use :)

You could checkout the 2.0.9 prerelease from the release branch, and try that,
but I doubt that it'd make much difference... apart from the modules rollback
and the import merge there's very little in there.

Does exporting from cvs.cvsnt.org work for you?
