Here's the point of view of someone who won't be shifting, at least for a
few years.

We started off on Visual Source Safe. After a few months a relation
commented to me that we should move to CVS because of instabilities in VSS.
I did the research and put the case to my boss. Important arguments were
that I had done a check of the VSS repository and found corruption, and that
CVS has been around for a long time and a lot of people use it.

Given that CVS is adequate, there's no way I can make a case for shifting to
something that may have more bells and whistles, and may do more for us long
term, but in the short term is a new project that I've only just heard of
and doesn't have the reassuring long history of CVS
