[cvsnt] linux clients cannot login to CVSNT [fixed]

I'm stupid.

I'm a new linux user and did some extensive testing on a linux box. I had
been a little sloppy in setting up my .bashrc and .cshrc profiles. Also I
was not quite correctly setting up the CVSROOT vars for either shell
environment. Once that was done correctly I was able to do a checkout. I
used commands of the form, where user "kirk" is a local WinXP account.

CVSROOT=:pserver:kirk at 137.51.14.45:/be
cvs -d :pserver:kirk at 137.51.14.45:/be login 

I assume since I accepted the default CVSNT installation prefix "c:/cvsrepo"
that is why I don't have to use the funky \\c\be workaround mentioned for
Unix clients in the FAQ. Agree?

Can you be more specific on the "nor some command attempts" part?  Are you
saying Linux clients can't at all and XP/NT/W2K have some trouble, or is
this some other case?
