[cvsnt] Sync of two CVS repository placed across two different Timezone

Hi,

I think that your best option is to use a single 'master' CVSNT repository machine and have both US and India teams check-out/update/commit from that one.

CVS[NT] works well across WAN links and has a variety of [secure] protocols to keep your repository safe from the outside world.

I don't think that there's a concept of dual-repository-servers that are kept in sync - unless anybody else knows of such a system?

to replicate but its the repository files that Im trying to replicate.

Why are you replicating checked-out client files across teams, rather than
just both teams check out what they need?

last option. But do you have any other option. I searched the web for a
soultion and came accross one "CVSup". Will "CVSup" solve the problem.

 I have one Win 2000 server in US and another Win2000 serve in India. I have
CVSNT installed on both the servers. The time in India is 8.5 hrs approx.
ahead of US. There are developers working in both the countries checking-out
the files from the servers of their areas. Since both the developers are
working in the same project, we used to synchronize the files in both the
servers with the help of File Synchronization software. The problem with
these softwares are that they sync based on time stamp. So if a person has
modified a file "test.txt" at 10:10 AM in India, after 10 mins. another
person in US modifies the same file from his server. Now both the file are
different in versions. At the time of Sync the file that has been modified
at the Indian side is always replacing the file modified on the US side.
This is bcos the File Sync software always compares the timestamp of both
the files and finds that Indian time is greater than US time so it does that
way though the file modified on the US side is the latest. Is there anything
the CVS can do to solve this problem.
