Thanks Chuck,
I had the cygwin cvs client in my path and did not know it. It is a shame
the cygwin is not more up to date.

The version doesn't lie; you must have another version in your path.
Try using the fully-qualified path name.

Bo,
I don't know what I had before but I just finished going to
http://www.cvsnt.org/wiki/ and downloading and installing 2.0.46. I do a
cvs -v and it still indicates that I'm running 1.11.6.

I still get the same results when I try to cvs -d
:pserver:siegfried at 192.168.0.8/c//CONVEX ls -R (i.e., it does not
work).

Where do I go to verify what version I downloaded? Apparently the client
is lying to me.
  Thanks,
      Siegfried

You did *not* download and install CVSNT if you got it from
sourceforge... The only source for CVSNT is www.cvsnt.org. And the CVSNT
versions are not on 1.11.x , they are on 2.0.40+ numbers.

So your questions seem to be misdirected, you should go to the cvs.org
website instead.

/Bo
