We used to get them, but after making sure everyone always shut down
the IDE before updating there haven't been any since.

In theory if you modified a file in the exact second you updated it
you could lose data but that's almost impossible to do even
deliberately.  Anything else will be caught by timestamp checks,
version checks, etc.
