Finally sucess!!!
I had to do a  couple of changes.
I had to delete the C:\cvstemp and fix the permissions on the
<CVS_instalationDir>\Temp folder.
I also had to check off 'lock server listens locally' option in Control
Panel\CVS for NT.
I also chose 'Require Ecnryption' and 'Request Compression' in the Advanced
tab.
I created another account at the server (Machine at work) that has exact the
same user name and passwd as my home machine.
So now, I can check in and out using the VS plugin for CVS.
