Rob,

Local access is fine if you are the only developer who will be accessing
the repository. If there will be any other users accessing the
repository then even a user on the same machine where the server resides
should connect to the server and not use local access.
I suggest you use sspi.

As for useful beginner guides, I have found this site helpful:
http://ikon.as/wincvs-howto/
It has not been updated recently but it really deals with the basics in
a straightforward way.

Also, there's no substitute for reading the posts on this mailing list.

Regards,
Erik

Hello

I currently have wincvs set up on my pc (win xp) and cvsnt on a virtual
server also on the same pc. Would i login as 'local' as my
authentication option?

Also could you recommend the best website/document to look at in getting
started for beginners in Wincvs

Thanks

Regards
