When I look at my CVS/entries file (in the sandbox) I have noticed that a
directory entry is missing.

If I do a fresh CO the entry is there BUT when I do an Update (in particular
with the -d option) the entry disappears and I begin getting the "MOVE FILE
AWAY ERROR".

Any Ideas?

I've found it generically means CVS didn't put that file there in the
first place - move it out of the way, update, then put it back then
update again to compare your version against it's.

Something has deleted the CVS control directories, usually.
