Yes you do - the ext protocol doesn't have the ability to not specify a 
username.

That will only work if you have a user called 'anonymous'.

The only reason to get 'unknown username or password' is in fact if the 
username and/or password is in fact incorrect.

Note that you cannot do a 'cvs login' with ext so this must be done on 
the command line if you're not using your SSPI domain/user (since it's 
impossible to specify a password for ext either).
