[cvsnt] cvsnt and defect tracking

At my company we use CVSNT and run an Apache 2.0 webserver serving only
ViewCVS on the same low end WinXP box.  For our 15 person development
group this works fine.

I wouldn't even try doing software development without bug tracking of
some kind. 

We run RTI's CustomerFirst software
http://www.rti-software.com/home.html which does not have CVS
integration by default.  I wrote loginfo handlers to insert information
directly into CustFirst's MS-SQL database.

CustFirst is a proprietary package that works just fine but it is
somewhat expensive for small companies.  It also does more than bug
tracking being a full CRM and sales tracking product designed for
software companies.  My gut feeling is that there are open source
solutions out there that could do the same thing but you will spend time
and money researching and integrating these to find the "right fit" for
you.  That cost could very well be above the price of implementing the
off the shelf solution.

I have heard good things on this list about Mantis
http://www.mantisbt.org/ and I've always wanted to find a reason to play
with RT http://www.bestpractical.com/rt/ but haven't quite found the
time yet.
