[cvsnt] Migration of source to another server with the historyintact

If your source is defined as a module folder in the existing CVSNT server
(no virtual modules defined in the CVSROOT/modules file), then it is very
simple:

- Go to the existing CVSNT server console
- Open a drive mapping to the new CVSNT server so you can see the new repository
- Copy the project folder from the old to the new server (to the same relative position)

Now you should be able to check out the same project from the new server.

You can even modify the metadata on an existing sandbox from the old server
to point at the new server and then continue working as before.
This is easily done if youi use the client GUI WinCvs because it has a
macro for just this purpose (called Change CVSROOT or something similar).

Subject: [cvsnt] Migration of source to another server with the
historyintact

Hi,

I am new to CVSNT. I am currently having a requirement of migrating the
source code in one of the repositories residing in one CVSNT server to
another server. How can this be done taking into consideration that all the
versions, tags, history etc should be restored as it is in the new CVSNT
server ? Please help..

Thanks & Regards
Vinod.P
