[cvsnt] Again: verifymsg problem

Build: 2.0.58d on Linux

CVS Server
  $ ll /usr/local/cvs/_common
    -rw-r--r--    1 root  root    667 26. Jan 15:45 cvscop-config.xml
    -rwxr-xr-x    1 root  root  40616 26. Jan 15:24 cvscop.pl
    [...]
  $ cat /usr/local/cvs/eWallet/CVSROOT/verifymsg
    [...]
    DEFAULT /usr/local/cvs/_common/cvscop.pl verifymsg


CVS Client (eWallet sandbox):
  $ cvs commit
    E cvs [server aborted]: cannot exec 
"/usr/local/cvs/_common/cvscop.pl
    verifymsg": No such file or directory

As you can see, the script exists but can't be executed with a 
parameter. Why?
I just wrote a wrapper script which does nothing else then calling
the original script with the "verifymsg" parameter... this is plain stupid.
