... which is to do with *sandboxes*.

To my knowledge, provided one accepts the slightly lower reliability of
saving work to network shares as opposed to local filestore, this will
work.  You may wish to investigate other ways of working, such as
getting corporate IT to back up developers' sandboxes, developers
scripting a backup tool such as ntbackup to back up their entire sandbox
to a file on a network share on a regular basis, or using some
replication tool to copy files from the local workstation to a network
share as they are closed after an update.
