There's probably an issue with the GUI tools that on their own determine
the type of file when adding, or let the user choose. It seems they should
set the options for text files explicitly, rather than doing a plain "add"
for text files (which uses the server side defaults and therefore the file
may not get added as text file, even if the user explicitly set "text
file").

Server side cvswrappers doesn't seem to be a good solution in any case. I
don't know, but it's quite possible that Bo has also binary .iso CD images
on his system. Extensions are not a good way to say anything about any
file.

So maybe the way to go is to disable server side file type determination
based on extensions altogether? At least for the ones who mostly use GUI
tools for adding files?
