for questions about CVS Suite or CVS Pro.

CVS Suite 2008 which you should have received a free upgrade to has
"convert message to bugid" on the "additional" tab of the server control
panel.  This is not available in the open source builds.  This allows
you to use Bug id in a 'limited' way from Eclipse or other clients that
do not directly support bug id's, since the Eclipse IDE doesn't directly
support the bug id there are some client side only functions not
supported.
