Sure, because using :local: is highly dangerous: each of your clients can
corrupt the repository. With the client-server only the server can.

|If all clients have access to the CVS repository on a shared (Novell)
|drive then I can just use :local: and have the client do all the file
|manipulation, right?  So I don't need cvsnt at all?
