[cvsnt] Migration from Linux CVS to CVSNT?

Assuming you want to move to CVSNT on a Windows NT PC:

1) Download the latest stable CVSNT setup
2) Install it on your Windows server
3) In Control Panel CVSNT create a new repository
4) Shut down the CVS service on Linux
5) TAR the complete structure of the repository on Linux
   (except the CVSROOT directory)
6) Use WinZip to unpack the structure of the repository
to the new repository created on Windows.
7) Pretty much done...

NOTE 1:
Make sure to go into the WinZip settings and*uncheck*
the "Smart" LF handling in TAR archives! Otherwise the
LF chars will be expanded to CRLF and the repository will be
unusable.

NOTE 2:
Do not unpack the CVSROOT directory from Linux to the CVSNT
repository. These files need to be set up differently on
Windows anyway and the file set created in step 3 above
should be preserved as the starting point of this.

Subject: [cvsnt] Migration from Linux CVS to CVSNT?

Hi,

Is there a recommended (simple) way to migrate from a Linux CVS
installation to a CVSNT installation?

Thanks,
Dave
