space escape problem? Is that what our problem is?

Also, Tony was told in an earlier message that the lockserver crashes on
startup in recent versions. I can confirm this, because I tried a newer
build than 2099 to see if it fixed our loginfo problem, and the lock server
does indeed segfault on startup.
