Brian,

Download 2.5.04 and set up a caching server (write through proxy) in India.  Even without the proxy 2.5.04 may be faster if there are binary files in the mix because 2.5.04 will use hashes whereever possible rather than sending the whole file.

The reason I was wondering is basically because we have department over
in India that VPNs in and then checks out the code to their machines
over there and it is taking quite a long time, so we were trying to
figure out if its one solid stream of information coming down or if it
takes a chunk of the code in one stream, then opens another and so on
