I had this same effect sporadically at some point, but it went away soon. I
don't know what caused it come or go. It wasn't often enough to make me go
after.

You can enable server trace. This has been implemented a while ago. I've
never done it, but I have seen traces here that had it enabled. Check out
the archives or the manual if you don't know what I'm talking about.
Probably somewhere it is explained how to enable them.

Maybe there's something different WRT default code page or Unicode encoding
settings in the new server? I don't know exactly how this works between
cvsnt client and server and the different systems that either may run on,
but maybe someone else knows.
